At the Annual Meeting of Stokenham Parish Council Councillor Peter Greening was re-elected Chairman and Councillor Richard Foss Vic-Chairman. Other councillors were appointed to various committees and to represent council on outside bodies.
Parish Plan Up-date - A questionnaire will be distributed to all households with the council summer newsletter. It is also hoped to publish the questionnaire on line. Any suggestions for improvements to the parish would be more than welcome and may be made on this blog.

Hopefully will soon be an update from lively meeting yesterday. It is really important that views of all parishoiners are heard, respected and represented. I was in the minority at the meeting yesterday where circa 75 people attended the meeting with the sole aim of objecting to the proposed new housing development. The council needs to have listened to this protest. However, I would also ask that they represent thoose who were not there and did not have a voice. We have circa 150 children attending primary school in the parish - these children are are future and we must provided affordable, locally covented housing for them. New definitions of what is affordable needs to be considered and it may be that any 2 bed terrace will still be unaffordable so consideration to masioinetts and apartments should be given. Our parish must be allowed to grow and flourish and not become a large self selecting retirement community
